A traveling magician and escape artist, Ricardo is the son of the Great Escapo. Escapo also traveled with circuses, using them as cover to rob banks with his lockpicking skills. Just before his death a year ago, Escapo repented and wanted to make amends, and had never spent the stolen money. After his death, Ricardo set out to emulate his father and return the money the same way that it was stolen.
Ricardo befriended Corky and the boy was accidentally locked in a bank vault during one of Ricardo's late-night break-ins. The escape artist freed the boy and explained the situation to Tim and the local sheriff, and they let him go after they confirmed he was returning money to banks rather than stealing it.
