Jack Cooper has been trying to do the right thing, though sometimes in the wrong way at work in the Homicide Division and in her personal life. She burns hot and her investigative and personal methods can be borderline reckless. She shows traits of a crime-solving genius, and she'll probably develop into one if she can keep the mess of her personal life from undermining the path to her true calling.
Coming from the wrong side of the tracks, Jack struggles to stay on the right side after working so hard to get there. On top of this, Jack has been screwed over so regally by her silver-tongued lawyer boyfriend that her intense desire for personal justice causes her to push the limits of acceptable (and legal) behavior.
