Margaret Sanders

Fiercely protective of her hemophiliac son Ryan and supportive of her husband Will and his ongoing fight for safer blood products. When the tainted blood tragedy hits hard, the Sanders family bands together. Early on, Margaret reads about AIDS as a danger to the blood system and confronts Ryan's doctor trying to keep her son from being exposed. She's a smart, sharp witted mother desperate to protect her family. Margaret faces the ignorance and prejudice surrounding AIDS at her job as a school teacher and later on, testifies before a Federal Subcommittee investigating the tainted blood tragedy. Ultimately, she joins the Canadian Hemophilia Society's fight for justice and compensation.
