Samantha Bennett

In the episode, it is told that Samantha, played by Shelley Robertson, was wrongly sentenced to 10 years, for murder. After she was released, she causes a scene at her apartment that her and her family used to stay at, threatening the landlord with a bat, questioning him where her now ex-husband and daughter were - which he didn't know, as they "moved out years ago". Samantha got emotional at the officers, talking about how her then husband and daughter were turned against her by the police, asking them "Do you know what it feels like to have the person that you love turn against you, believe that you're capable of the worst thing imaginable?".

After convincing her to put the bat down, police officers Angela Lopez and Jackson West bring Samantha into custody. Luckily, the landlord, decided to drop the charges against her, allowing her to go free. As she is being released from the police station, Lopez reveals that she did some digging and discovered the husband and his whereabouts. After explaining what had happened to Samantha, the ex-husband still didn't want to tell her where he was, but took Samantha's number off Lopez, which Lopez hoped he will use to contact her contact her, so she can meet them, and the daughter, who is in the ex-husband's custody.
