Ben Diamond may be the king of Miami's underworld, but he still answers to a higher power the Chicago Outfit. Since revenue from his Havana casinos has disappeared under the Castro regime, Ben must ramp up efforts in his other Miami businesses and look for new opportunities, the most promising being the prospect of legal casino gambling on the Beach. Installing a casino in Miami Beach's crown jewel, the Miramar Playa, would be printing money for Ben and the Mob and Ike Evans' worst nightmare: Ben Diamond would be Ike's partner for life, and a short life it might be. While Ben battles Ike over the future of the Miramar Playa, he also begins a strange dance with Ike's son Stevie. Stevie and Ben's gorgeous wife Lily continue their torrid affair but, unbeknownst to Stevie, Ben is now an enthusiastic viewer of their trysts. Their passion excites the Butcher, but when Ben tires of their assignations, things will get even more dangerous for the young lovers.
