Counselor Deanna Troi

Deanna, based on Ilia, is a supernatural person. She is part Betazoid who was supposed to be married to Wyatt Miller, and then Will Riker. As ship's counselor, she assists the captain in diplomatic missions as well as the security teams during their investigations. She has the ability to give orders to any member of the crew on the basis of health concerns, relieve them of duty, and reassign their posts. Her mother is an ambassador. Deanna helps Worf raise his son for a while, even going on Virtual Reality with him. Her mother adopts him as well. The relationship between Deanna and her mother is based on Amanda and Dotty from Scarecrow And Mrs. King. as well as the real life bond between Marina and The Roddenberrys. Deanna gets little screen time, but in the episode Face of the Enemy by Don Davis, she is able to smuggle a delegation across enemy lines. She often works with Reginald Barclay.
