Kira Nerys is next in line to take over the Deep Space Nine space station. She has lived a life of torture from Cardassians, and does not trust The Federation either. Her nemesis Prefect Gul Dukat forced her mother to be his mistress. Regardless, Nerys raised Dukat's daughter for him, with the two reconciling for that occasion only. Nerys also has no problem with laughing.
