At the beginning of our story, Hiromatsu accompanies Toranaga into the lion's den of Osaka, prepared to defend his lord against the enemies plotting against him.
Hiromatsu is a dependable presence by Toranaga's side. They met when Toranaga was a boy hostage, training to lead his first battle. A young samurai himself, Hiromatsu became his advisor, sensing the promise in the analytical child. When Toranaga won his freedom, Hiromatsu pledged fealty to the young warlord and has served as his most trusted general ever since.
