At the beginning of our story, Omi has been managing his humble fishing village for a year and only knows of his infamous uncle Yabushige through cautionary tales. But when the Erasmus washes up on his shores, Omi summons his uncle, eager to make an impression.
Omi inherited Ajiro from his late father, Yabushige's younger brother. Desperate to make a name for himself and salvage his family's reputation, Omi sets aside his grief and works tirelessly to help his village flourish. Living with his slightly overbearing mother, Saki, Omi is focused and has already improved life in Ajiro.
