Foreign visitors to Japan are amazed to find Japanese love of ships; from the excursion ship on Lake Ashi to houseboats on Tokyo Bay and Sumida River. The "block construction method", where each block constructed separately are ultimately fabricated into one piece, is a method developed to build the battleship Yamato on a short-term basis.
