The owner of an homeless shelter is found dead at the bottom of the stairs. The detectives discover that the business affairs and permits are not as solid as the widow of the owner made it sound like. And are the residents really as helpless as they seem? Meanwhile Kate just broke up and moved, while Lara and Eliz are trying to cheer her up and surprise her with a present.
