Zündstoff

A bomb explosion literally blows up a mafia secret meeting in Bolzano. A bodyguard of the hostess Giulia Santoro (Susanna Simon) is killed, the enraged bosses leave in a hurry. For the ambitious governor and her rival, the "Capo" Michele Lagagna (Leonardo Nigro), more is at stake than the billion-dollar deal she has engineered. And Giulia absolutely has to find out who is behind the attack before Mrs. Inspector Sonja Schwarz (Chiara Schoras) does it. The interim head of the Bozen Criminal Police Office is just as unimpressed that there is considerable tension in her team as is the blocking attitude of the anti-mafia agency DIA.
About the evaluation ofexplosives, Sonja gets on an unexpected trail that leads to unexplained attacks by an underground organization from the 1960s: the "Liberation Committee South Tyrol". This belonged to Robert Lanthaler (Helmfried von Lüttichau), the father of ex-police officer Sofia (Sinja Dieks), who was exposed as a mafia informant. The fact that his girlfriend is associated with the case enrages Commissioner Jonas Kerschbaumer (Gabriel Raab), who fears for her life. Sonja's affair from Bari also plays an obscure role: Riccardo Riello (Stefano Bernardin), undercover investigator of the DIA, turns up as Lagagna's driver in Bolzano. But can Sonja really trust him?
