A Craftsman Comeback

Nashville house flipper, Troy Shafer, renovates homes in historic communities throughout Nashville, Tennessee. Reviving historic homes is as important to Troy as accomplishing a financially sound flip. Most of the old homes he acquires have unforeseen challenges -- because he never really knows what he has until he begins pulling back the years of neglect. Facing all those challenges and more, Troy calls upon designer friend Julie Couch to help revive this Craftsman style bungalow. Located in a thriving part of town known as East Nashville, this property was originally built in 1923, and has undergone layers renovations with budget materials that stripped this house of its authentic charm and character. Troy and Julie work together to take out the new, restore the old, and replenish some of the history and dignity a true craftsman home of this age deserves. They do their best to return this home back to it's original beauty, creating a historically accurate house that will also appeal to today's buyers.
