After the death of his grandfather, MacGyver tries to stop the theft of an Egyptian artifact and is critically injured. He finds himself on the Ship of the Dead... with his dead relatives.

In Minnesota, Harry Jackson is fishing with a neighbor boy. Harry offers the boy one of his special lures made out of a gum wrapper, and they talk about how the boy's grandfather is in California.
