It is the defining event of the horse racing calendar. Quintessentially British, each of the five days begins with the Royal Procession of the Royal Family by horse drawn landaus in front of the Grandstand, ahead of the world class racing. The event is a festival of pageantry, style and, of course, the sport of kings, the history of which stretches all the way back to Queen Anne who famously identified Ascot as the ideal place for horses to canter. This film explores and celebrates the history of one of the world's most famous sporting events.
