BBC reveal details of 'DIY SOS' Children In Need Special

Nick Knowles and the DIY SOS team are joined by BBC Radio 2 presenters for the second year in a special collaboration build in aid of BBC Children in Need in Risley, Derbyshire. Joined by tradespeople and volunteers from across the UK, the team build a purpose-built building for Treetops Hospice to deliver support and counselling for children and young people who are experiencing traumatic bereavement.

The incredibly moving programme shares stories from children and families that have benefited from the crucial support of Treetops Hospice during some of the most difficult times of their lives. This year’s Big Build for Children In Need has been done in partnership with Radio 2 and the team have been joined by presenters from the network including Richie Anderson, Zoe Ball, Rev Kate Bottley, Scott Mills, Jeremy Vine and Owain Wyn Evans, to complete this new building in just 10 days. The programme follows the trials and tribulations of the team, tradespeople and volunteers, with the epic reveal celebrated with an extra special surprise from Sophie Ellis-Bextor.

The programme will broadcast at 9pm, Thursday 16 November, BBC One.
