"NCIS: Hawaiʻi" Canceled at CBS After 3 Seasons

It came down to the wire, but "NCIS: Hawaiʻi" ultimately didn't make the cut for next season at CBS. The news comes days before the network is set to announce its fall schedule on May 2 and before the Season 3 finale is scheduled to air on May 6. According to sources, the episode was not meant to be a series finale and includes a tease for what was to come but fans won't be left reeling by a major cliffhanger.

I was really enjoying it, its a shame, and poor decision making on CBS's part in my opinion.

Okay isn't there also a NCIS Down Under?  Don't they have 3 shows while cancelling the established ones along the way?

That sucks :(

Why add LL Cool J and then cancel the show 10 episodes later. How does that make any sense?

Long and, surely, an unpopular opinion on the cancelation and NCIS, in general...

I think this is a poor decision. NCIS: Hawai'i and even NCIS: Sydney open up more possibilities to the NCIS universe with different approaches which is a good thing. I watched JAG from when it first aired on TV which lead to NCIS and all the subsequent NCIS shows. Some are/were better than others. All were better than NCIS: Red Team, of course, which rightly never really came to be.

I have zero interest in NCIS: Origins or NCIS: Europe. I don't need a show based around Gibbs back before the original NCIS show began and I am quite pleased with the forward movement of NCIS, itself, with the departure of DiNozzo and Gibbs. I'd be more interested in a show based around Bishop and what happened after her leaving NCIS and even that is a stretch although I would like to know something about where she ended up. I consider myself to be a Gibbs fan but I'm simply not THAT into the character. Also, to be honest, going back and watching old original NCIS episodes I have come to realize just how much I hated the DiNozzo character. I guess I just never saw it back then but his character is so utterly shallow and awful and while he became better with a good deal of time he held too large a presence which held back real development of the other characters, IMO.

It's unfortunate to see the two new NCIS shows, the uncanceling of SWAT which is utterly moronic, and other newer shows leading to room needing to be made in the schedule and cancelations as a result. I'm losing out on the opportunity to see where NCIS: Hawai'i could have gone. Pity.
