Vliegende Hollanders (Flying Dutchmen) is delayed by about a year and announced two leads.

Daan Schuurmans and Fedja van Huêt will both be playing a main role in the adventurous dramaseries Vliegende Hollander and will start to film in early June.

The new series will take place in the early days of our commercial aviation. Aircraft manufacturer Anthony Fokker (Fedja van Huêt) and founder of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines Albert Plesman (Daan Schuurmans) were in no doubt intertwined with each other as aviation pioneers. Although their personalities differed from each other like day and night, they managed to make the Netherlands as one of the important players in the world of aviation.

The drama that is ordered by public broadcaster avrotros will most likely air in autumn 2020 on NPO 1.

The series is written by the writers collective Winchester McFly and led by Thomas van der Ree (known for Bankier van het Verzet). The director for the series will be performed by Joram Lürsen (known for Alles is Liefde, Judas, Publieke Werken). Vliegende Hollanders will be produced by Topkapi Films in co-operation with Avrotros.
