Following a 22-year news career with Canadian TV channel CityTV, David Onley became Ontario's 28th Lieutenant Governor on September 5, 2007. As the province's first viceregal officeholder with a physical impairment, Onley adopted accessibility as the overarching theme of his mandate and continues to advocate for persons with disabilities.
