Cosmo Jarvis is an American-born British actor, musician, and filmmaker. He was born in Ridgewood, New Jersey to an Armenian-American mother and English father. He moved to Totnes, Devon when he was a child, and initially pursued a career in music. Jarvis rose to fame in 2009 with his debut album Humasyouhitch/Sonofabitch. As an actor he has starred in features like Lady Macbeth (2016), Calm with Horses (2019), and Funny Face (2020), as well as Netflix's film Persuasion (2022). He also wrote, directed, and produced the 2012 film The Naughty Room. Jarvis also stars as John Blackthorne/Anjin in the Disney+ historical drama miniseries Shōgun (2024).
