Wojciech Pszoniak

Wojciech Zygmunt Pszoniak,was born in Lwów, Lwowskie, Poland ,is a Polish actor, theater and film , educator . He has been recognized as one of the greatest Polish actors dramatic after 1960 .

Wojciech Pszoniak comes from Lvov, where he was born and spent the first two years of life. In 1944, his family had to leave the city.

He grew up in Gliwice . In his youth he played the violin and clarinet in high school musical Bytom learned to play the oboe , he was also active in the military band. He has performed in theaters amateur and student, as well as cabarets ,in 1961, founded the cabaret "Red Giraffe".

In 1968 he graduated from the Theatre Academy in Cracow . He has performed on the stages of the Stary Theatre in Krakow and the National Theatre in Warsaw and Teatr Powszechny in Warsaw . In the years 1974-1980 he was a lecturer at the Warsaw Theatre Academy . In the '70s also performed in cabaret under the aegis . Since the late 70s he played in theaters in French . In the 80s he moved permanently to Paris . Since the 90s, plays in both French productions, as well as Polish.

There was, among others, performances: The Curse of the Wyspiański directed by Konrad Swinarski ,1970 Anger by John Osborne directed. Zygmunt Hübner ,1973, The Government Inspector by Nikolai Gogol directed. George Boneyard ,1977, Seven floors Dino Buzattiego dir. Andrzej Baranski, 1995, Funny old man Tadeusz Różewicz dir. Stanislaw Różewicz ,1997, and directed by himself Dożywociu Aleksander Fredro, 2001.

Screen debut in the Bulgarian show Proizszestwie on Cljapata street from 1965. In the film, Polish and in 1970 (The face of an angel directed. Zbigniew Chmielewski ). He has appeared in dozens of films, Polish, French and international productions. He played, among others, the title role in The Devil dir. Andrzej Zulawski ,1972 , the role of Mieszko I in Nest dir. John Rybkowski ,1974 , Dr. Marglewskiego the Hospital of the Transfiguration , dir. Edward Zebrowski , 1978 , Siedelmayera, director of the circus in Aria for an Athlete dir. Filip Bajon , 1979 , Yosele in Austeria dir. Jerzy Kawalerowicz ( 1982 ) and Kaminski Strike dir. Volker Schlöndorff 2007 .

He also appeared in films by Andrzej Wajda : as a Journalist and Stanczyk the Wedding, 1972, Moritz in the Promised Land ,1974 , Robespierre in Danton, 1983 , and the title role in Korczak, 1990 .

He was an honorary member of the support committee Bronislaw Komorowski before accelerated presidential elections in 2010 and before the presidential elections in Poland in 2015 .

Wojciech Pszoniak lives permanently in France, but stresses its commitment to Polish. In an interview, he said :

"

- Living in the West, I never lost contact with the Polish. Here I still have a house, own VAT and PIT.I have friends here. My parents raised me to believe that Poland is the best and most beautiful country. Thanks travels around the world understand that this is not entirely true that there are countries more beautiful and richer. But love of country is like love of a mother. You have to love it and respect for it, that is. The more poor and tormented, the more need of love.
