Mark James

Mark James a.k.a. Mark Anthony – was born and raised in Oakland, California. At the age of three, Mark began playing drums. Soon Mark would include piano, singing, tap dancing and acting into his entertainment repertoire. Entertainment As the opening act for his father's group The Natural Four, Mark performed in venues locally and nationally that included groups and entertainers such as: The Whispers, Curtis Mayfield, The Impressions, Leroy Hudson, Aretha Franklin, The O Jays, Earth Wind & Fire, The Delfonics, The Temptations and many more… Television In 1975, Mark moved from Oakland to Los Angeles, California, to pursue his acting career. Mark attained nationwide T.V. roles on commercials and sitcoms such as: The M&M's (candy man series), Sprite, Mattel Toys, Taco Bell, The White Shadow, Eight Is Enough (the first African American to appear on the sitcom), The Love Boat, Bob Hope and Steve Martin Specials, The Mickey Mouse Club and many more. With his notoriety and creativity growing by leaps and bounds, Mark's talent attracted worldwide instructors: Fayard Nicholas of The Nicholas Brothers and Ron Coleman (pianist/musical director for The Jones Girls, Aretha Franklin and The Temptations).
