Dr. Eric Manheimer, M.D. was the Medical Director at New York City's Bellevue Hospital for over thirteen years (1997-2012) and is a Clinical Professor at the New York University School of Medicine. He is an Internist who trained at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, New York in Internal Medicine. NBC's medical drama series New Amsterdam (2018-2022) is based on his book Twelve Patients: Life and Death at Bellevue Hospital. He also serves as the series producer and consulting producer.
