Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is a novelist, writer of short stories, and nonfiction. She was born in Enugu and grew up in Nsukka. Chimamanda studied medicine and pharmacy at the University of Nigeria for a year and a half but then imagrated to the United States to study communications and political science at Drexel University in Philadelphia. Soon thereafter she transferred to Eastern Connecticut State University where she obtained a bachelor's degree (summa cum laude). Chimamanda completed a master's degree in creative writing at Johns Hopkins University in 2003 then a Master of Arts degree in African studies from Yale University in 2008.
