Gene Tierney

Born in Brooklyn, New York Gene Tierney was endowed with astonishing beauty and talent, starting out on Broadway in 1938 and soon transitioned into film. At age 20, she had her first feature role in The Return of Frank James (1940). She appeared in a good number of films through to the mid 1950's, when the pressures of a failed marriage, the birth of a daughter with learning disabilities and several unhappy love affairs resulted in her being hospitalized for depression. After taking a seven year break from the industry she couldn't seem to recapture her former level of stardom.

Gene Tierney died at her home in Houston at age 70
