Peniel Shin was born and raised at Chicago, Illinois, United States of America. He debuted as a member of the South Korean boy group BTOB in 2012. In 2017, he held his first photography exhibition titled 'Penography'. Peniel suffers from alopecia caused by stress. In 2017 he released his first solo single 'That Girl'.
