Ryan Kotack

Originally from Kitchener-Waterloo, Ryan Kotack was born on January 9, 1987 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada to Roseanna Kotack, a State Farm Insurance claims adjuster, and Calvin Kotack, President of Mrs. Fields Cookies Canada. When he was 7 years old, Ryan spent elementary school drawing children books inserting his classmates and teachers as characters. In his grade nine drama class, Ryan found a love for the stage performing as a tree in a tableaux. Ryan performed Shakespeare during lunch hours, hosted his high school talent show, and performed in community theatres. He studied professional theatre at University of Guelph to then pursue a film/TV career in Toronto.

Ryan landed his debut feature film lead role alongside punk icon Henry Rollins in the thriller In the House of Flies (Black Fawn Films). The role earned him critical praise from The Hollywood Reporter, Ain't It Cool News, and Fangoria Magazine. Alongside critical praise, Ryan's performance was awarded Best Actor in the inaugural Blood in the Snow Film Festival (2012).

You may have seen him in major television shows such as the popular medieval drama Reign (The CW). His selected film credits include, In the House of Flies (Black Fawn Films), Antisocial 2 (Breakthrough Entertainment), and the award-winning drama short film Bosniak (CBC Gem).

In 2020, Ryan appeared in Cate Blanchett's Mrs. America (FX), the second season of The Boys (Amazon Prime), and the indie horror film Anything for Jackson (Super Channel Fuse). In 2023 he appeared in Alert: Missing Persons Unit (FOX).
