Michelle Brasier

Michelle Brasier is a multiple award-winning actor, singer, writer and comedian.

On the small screen, Michelle has featured Network Ten's Drunk History Australia and How To Stay Married, ABC's Stories from Oz, Shaun Micallef's Mad As Hell (seasons 10 and 11), Utopia, Whovians, Get Krackin' and At Home Alone Together. Michelle has voiced characters in YOLO: Crystal Fantasy (Adult Swim) and an upcoming series Koala Man on Hulu. In 2018, Michelle made her feature film debut in the comedy drama, The Merger.

Michelle is widely known for her collaborations with absurdist comedy sketch group, Aunty Donna, including most recently on their smash-hit Netflix special, Aunty Donna's Big Ol' House of Fun. Michelle also featured as a writer and vocalist on Aunty Donna's ARIA nominated album and accompanying national tour.

Comedy fans will also recognise Michelle for her work in the comedy duo, Double Denim, alongside Laura Frew. In 2018, Double Denim won the Melbourne International Comedy Festival's (MICF) Director's Choice award and the Sydney Comedy Festival's Best Newcomer award, and was nominated twice for MICF's Golden Gibbo award.

In 2021, Michelle toured her award-winning show, Average Bear, across the Australian comedy festival circuit. A deeply personal show exploring Michelle's experience living in the shadows of a hereditary illness, Average Bear yo-yos between grief and joy reminding audiences that life is too short to be taken seriously.

In the same year, Average Bear was awarded the Sydney Comedy Festival's Directors Choice Award, was nominated for Melbourne Comedy Festival's Most Outstanding Show and received rave reviews from the Sydney Morning Heraldand renowned UK comedy guide, Chortle. In August 2022, Average Bear will debut at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

Following on from Average Bear, Michelle toured her hilarious show, Reform, across Australia in 2022. A theatrical hour of storytelling, Reform tells the a cautionary tale of an online scam and is backed by a full piece band. The show was met with critical acclaim and received multiple five-star reviews.

As a writer, Michelle has written for Yolo: Crystal Fantasy (Adult Swim US) and ABC's Why Are You Like This and At Home Alone Together. On stage, Michelle has starred in the 2020 Red Stitch production of Nick Coyle's Feather in the Web directed by Declan Greene and Stephen Schwartz's Children Of Eden at the Melbourne Recital Centre.
