Cedric Richmond

Cedric Levon Richmond is a lawyer and Democratic politician. Richmond represents Louisiana's 2nd Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives. Congressman Richmond currently serves on the House Committee on House Ways and Means Committee. Outside of Committee service, he is a member of the New Democrat Coalition and serves as the House Democratic Assistant to the Majority Whip. Born and raised in New Orleans, Congressman Richmond graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School, earned his undergraduate degree from Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA, and his Juris Doctorate from the Tulane University School of Law in New Orleans. Congressman Richmond is also a graduate of the Harvard University Executive Education Program at the John F. Kennedy School of Government. In 2019, Congressman Richmond was inducted into the Tulane Law School Hall of Fame.
