Frédéric Serre

Frédéric Serre is a former newspaper reporter with over 25 years of journalism and media relations experience. Serre has been the director of FSI Media, a Montreal-based freelance communications company, since 1998. For the past 20 years, he has served as the communications officer for the Quebec RCMP Members' Association, which represents about 1,000 Royal Canadian Mounted Police members in Quebec, and as editor of the organization's annual 80-page magazine. Serre also sits on the board of the Quebec Police Awards committee, which annually honours police officers who have committed acts of bravery. Serre is the managing editor of Police Advocates Journal, a national online police magazine. Between 1995 and late-1997, Serre served as the communications officer for the Canadian Police Association, and was managing editor of the association's two magazines. Serre is a seasoned translator, cartoonist (editorial cartoonist at the Montreal Gazette) and photographer. His clients include the Montreal Canadiens, Boston Bruins, Philadelphia Flyers, as well as NHL.COM, evenko, and half a dozen film companies. In 2008 and 2009, Serre served as the communications officer for McGill University's Macdonald Campus, and has been a member of the Concordia University Journalism Alumni Association's organizing committee since 2005. Serre's big claim to fame was translating the legal contract for the rock band U2 in 2010 on behalf of evenko -- a contract that eventually became useful when the band postponed its show in Montreal. In his spare time – because hockey has been his passion since he learned to walk – Serre enjoys receiving pucks to the head, as a goalie for several ice hockey leagues, including the Just For Laughs league and international tournaments in Finland, Sweden, France and Spain (Serre wrote a feature story on his experiences for Concordia magazine).
