John Gertz is an American producer. He is the president and CEO of Zorro Productions, Inc., which he founded in 1977. Gertz has been responsible for four Zorro motion pictures including Zorro, the Gay Blade (1982), The Mask of Zorro (1998), and The Legend of Zorro (2005), the last two starring Antonio Banderas and Catherine Zeta-Jones. Also under his tenure, about twenty Zorro stage plays have been produced, as well as seven different Zorro TV series, including the live-action series Zorro on The Family Channel (1990-1993) and the animated series Zorro on The WB (1997-1998). Several other Zorro projects are in the works including the upcoming series Zorro on Amazon Prime Video.
