Joe DeMaio

Straight out of college, Joe had an exciting long run at MTV. He directed some of the most popular shows at the network, from Unplugged, Total Request Live and Singled Out. Joe left MTV in 2006 to take the director's chair at ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live, where he directed for almost 5 years. After directing nearly 800 shows, he left Kimmel to pursue a freelance career and a wider spectrum of work.

Joe teamed up with producers Mark Burnett and Audrey Morrissey to direct five years of the MTV Movie Awards and the Primetime Emmys for FOX. In addition, he directed the VMA's at Paramount's Back Lot and the first ever Japanese Video Music Awards in Tokyo, Japan.

With extensive experience at the helm of multi-camera live concerts and award shows, Joe has worked closely with ABC, NBC, FOX, CBS, VH1, CMT to name a few. Throughout his career, Joe has directed the biggest names in the music business, from U2's unforgettable performance under the Brooklyn Bridge, to Madonna's first ever MTV Special, to three live CBS Specials featuring Garth Brooks.

In the time since, Joe has directed such notable shows such as 23 hours to Kill stand up special with Jerry Seinfeld for Netflix, Miss America, Kids Choice Awards, Yellowstone Live for Nat Geo, I Heart Radio Music Awards, One Night with Don Rickles, CMT Music Awards.

Joe also directed several years of the Survivor Finale for CBS, Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular for NBC, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire for ABC, Hocus Pocus 25 for Freeform, the March For Our Lives rally for Facebook and several years of Disney Holiday Celebration shows for ABC & Disney. Joe currently spend most of his time between directing more top-tier shows and events around the country and developing television specials and series.
