I am currently Reader in Archaeological Practice, Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) and Member of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (MCIfA).
My PhD focused on early Norman castles, strategy, tactics and landscape archaeology and in a former career I was also a gravedigger, hence my interest in death, burial and the funerary industry.
I am also a broadcaster specialising in heritage, castles, landscapes, ancient technology, death, burial and the funerary industry and appear regularly on the BBC's ‘Digging For Britain' TV programme and was previously involved in the making of C4's ‘Time Time' Programme.
