Kimberly Moore

Kimberly Moore, PhD has a diverse work experience in the field of planetary astronomy and space science. Kimberly is currently working as a Research Scientist at SandboxAQ since January 2022. Prior to that, they were a 51 Pegasi b Prize Postdoctoral Fellow in Planetary Astronomy at Caltech from June 2020 to January 2022. Kimberly also worked as a Science Advisor / Technical Consultant at X, the moonshot factory from May 2021 to October 2021.

During their time at Harvard University, Kimberly worked as a Graduate Student Researcher in the Department of Earth & Planetary Science from an unspecified start date in 2014 until June 2020. Kimberly also served as a Pedagogy Fellow from January 2020 to May 2020.

Kimberly's experience includes working at the NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration. Kimberly served as a Team Leader for the NASA JPL Planetary Science Summer Seminar from May 2019 to August 2019. In this role, they led a team of 18 scientists and engineers in designing a NASA spacecraft mission concept, presented to high-ranking NASA officials, and contributed to policy white papers on next-generation spacecraft missions.
Additionally, Kimberly worked as a Student Researcher in GIS/Remote Sensing at NASA in 2013 and as a Student Researcher at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory from June 2009 to August 2011.

Kimberly Moore, PhD obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Earth & Planetary Science from Harvard University, where they studied from 2014 to 2020. In 2019, they also earned a Teaching Certificate from Harvard University. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Applied Physics from Yale University, where they attended from 2010 to 2014.

In addition to their academic degrees, Kimberly Moore has obtained additional certifications. In June 2023, they earned the Agile with Atlassian Jira certification from Coursera. Kimberly also obtained the Leading Complex Projects certification from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business in May 2023.
