Nicole Lyn was born in Brampton, Ontario, Canada to parents Cheryl Gabay and Peter Lyn. Her love for the arts began at 3-years-old, when she started taking dance classes in her hometown. She loved performing so much, she was soon modeling and appearing in Canadian and U.S. national commercials, which led to regular roles on 2 Canadian series by age 12.
Throughout her childhood, Nicole cultivated her passion for acting and dance at both the National Ballet School of Canada and Claude Watson School for the Arts, where she also excelled academically.
After taking a three-year hiatus from acting professionally to attend high school in Mandeville, Jamaica, Nicole returned to Canada and landed a leading role on the Fox's teen sitcom Student Bodies. In 2000, Nicole moved to Los Angeles, where she met her husband, actor Dulé Hill. The couple married in Montego Bay, Jamaica in 2004.
In addition to her television and film work, Nicole has made a name for herself as DJ Ms. Nix.
