Nick is trying to juggle two difficult cases. A childhood friend asks for his help to take over the family business, but her father isn't ready to step down. And a young boy in a wheelchair wants to stay with his step-father who has a criminal record, as well as discover which of his mother's Johns from over 10 years ago is his biological father. However, Social Services is recommending that he enters a group home where most of the residents have a mental disability, but the boy isn't interested.
