Red Snow, White Death Recap

Kodiak’ Set.

Kodiak’s hunt for a killer is aided by a reluctant witness - an old Eskimo intent on dying ceremoniously like his ancestors — on the ABC television network’s action-adventure serles, ‘‘Kodiak,” which premiered on Friday, September 13, 1974 (8-8:30 PM.)

Kodiak is an officer of the Alaska State Patrol.

In “'Red Snow, White Death,” Kodiak comes upon a plane crash in mountain country. Benton, the pilot, has been fatally shot and robbed of $80,000 he was transporting for the Bank of Anchorage. A witness is Abraham Lincoln Imhook, an elderly Eskimo who thinks he no longer has a reason to live, and is reluctant to leave the mountain.

Kodiak prevails upon him to join in the search for the murderer. Imhook’s description of the murderer fits that of Frank James, the brother of bush pilot Helen James, who operates the one-plane local airline. Kodiak and Imhook trace the fugtive to a mine near Helen’s landing strip where Frank, seizing Imhook as a hostage, holds Kodiak off with dynamite.
