The second live-action adaptation of Neil Simon's stageplay, "The New Odd Couple" was an attempt to remake the classic 1970-75 series starring Jack Klugman and Tony Randall. The twist? The lead actors were African-American. Now Demond Wilson took over the role of the slob sportswriter Oscar Madison, while Ron Glass served as neat freak photographer Felix Ungar. Out of 18 total episodes, eight were recycled from the original series.
