People born between 1961 to 1981 fall into a special category: Generation X. Initially thought of as slackers, this group of individuals collectively changed the face of the world in science, family structure and politics. Generation X expounded on the computer and electronics and brought forth an age of cell phones and the Internet. The classic family dynamic shattered with a paradigm shift towards divorce and same sex marriages. Politics went from stodgy bureaucrats with rigid militaristic goals to a world where change opened the eyes of a generation lacking faith in the system. So from the Cold War to the Internet, Gen Xers come of age during a time of transformation and usher in a world full of change.
