In the fifth episode, worried dog-sitters Natasha and Josiah arrive at the clinic with eight-year-old Bam Bam the Maltese terrier, who has lost half of his body weight. Blood tests confirm Scott's suspicion that Bam Bam is diabetic. The terrier is in a critical condition and needs immediate treatment if he is to survive. Bam Bam is placed on a drip for several days to try to bring him back from the brink.

In the sixth episode, Edwin the cat has severe breathing problems. Scott's initial diagnosis is feline asthma but he wants to take some X-rays and do tests to confirm the condition. What happens next is a vet's nightmare: Edwin stops breathing on the X-ray table and, to add to the tension, there's a power blackout. Has Edwin used up all of his nine lives? Scott is called out to treat Honey, a two-year-old Shar Pei that's been abandoned.

In the seventh episode, Sandy, who gave up a high-powered job in banking to start her own dog-walking company, spends her days walking her clients' dogs in the park or doing special garden visits to play games with pampered pooches. Having left the corporate rat race to find job satisfaction, Sandy now wants to take her business to a new level and has asked Scott to give her a first aid lesson in case anything happens to any of her clients' canines. Former international pop star Hannah from mega group S Club 7 is a regular at the clinic with Stanley, her Cavalier King Charles spaniel.
