Ever since the 1880s, Buffalo Bill's exhibitions have made trick shooting a big business. Ten contestants face off at legendary trick shots that include shooting backwards with a mirror, hammering nails into a board with bullets, and throwing multiple targets into the air then shooting them.

The teams dissolve, as everyone competes for him or herself, and three people are ultimately sent home. In the first of two surprise challenges, everyone has to shoot a lit fuse sending the shortest fuse home. Only four will remain to compete in the final episode.

In the season finale, the final four contestants compete to determine the winner of the $100,000 prize and the title of Top Shot. In one of the challenges, for the first time, competitors will get to call the shots, challenge each other, and name their weapon and target. In the final challenge, two will face off in the most difficult challenge of the entire competition.

Sharpshooter Surprise

Sharpshooter Surprise

14 men and 2 women arrive from around the country to compete for the $100,000 prize and the title of Top Shot--only to face a surprise right from Civil War history: exactly 150 years ago, soldiers had to pass a test to get into the first sharpshooting regiment. Using the same weapon, marksmen will face the same challenge and find another surprise. The two marksmen who had the best shots, two amateurs with dramatically different personalities, now have the opportunity to choose their own teams, a situation that sets the entire competition in motion. After choosing teams, they face a team challenge of extreme billiards and an elimination challenge which ultimately sees the first marksmen sent home. Colby Donaldson returns as host.

For the first time on Top Shot, contestants will be able to shoot ... each other! Using prohibition era weapons, teams will have to hit their targets, all while the other team tries to shoot them with paintball guns. In the elimination challenge, two contestants face off with the iconic "Tommy Gun".

The Gauntlet

The Gauntlet

The Season Three premiere begins with a shoot off between pairs of contestants using what many consider the most powerful hand gun in history. The winners will form one team and the losers the other. The first team challenge is a race where each team must carry a pole weighing over 200 pounds between eight foot tall firing platforms. The elimination challenge is inspired by the stagecoaches of the Old West. Skilled sharp shooters armed with shotguns and rifles were recruited to ride atop the coaches and protect their cargo. Hence the term "Riding Shotgun." The two contestants competing to stay on the show have to master the extremely difficult skill of shooting while bouncing up and down in a stagecoach with the loser being sent home. Down and Dirty

Down and Dirty

Teams get down and dirty with one of the most influential firearms, the legendary AK-47. They face an extreme obstacle course with mud pits, barbed wire and exploding mortars. The Blue Team employs unusual, divisive training methods and the Red Team remains unimpressed. In the elimination challenge, two shooters face a friend or foe challenge with a military and police pistol.

Contestants must master the Recurve Bow and nail a target by skipping an arrow off a ramp. One team goes to the brink of self-destructing when two teammates almost come to blows during a dispute of a previous elimination decision.

Stacked

Stacked

The individual stage of the competition kicks off with the highly accurate McMillan TAC-50 Sniper Rifle. Taking aim at targets 500 yards downrange, one marksman has a meltdown and struggles to complete the individual challenge. In the elimination, it's all on the line for two competitors as they duke it out with a notorious WWII handgun.

Odd Man Out

Competition speeds up when marksmen fire one of the fastest shooting handguns on the market. The vote at the nomination range provokes a drastic reaction from one of the shooters and a shocking turn of events leaves competitors stunned.

The five remaining marksmen face one of the most difficult challenges in Top Shot history. Shooters will use the powerful and compact SP89 semi automatic pistol while moving through the air upside down. Two confront the prospect of elimination and must adapt to the revolutionary Gatling Gun to stay in the game.

The fate of twelve rests on a roll of the dice. The competitors break into squads for a fierce side-by-side shoot out with the 1875 Remington Pistol. One will fall short and one will continue on to battle it out for the ultimate prize.

Long-range sniper shots are a Top Shot staple, but a challenge of this magnitude has yet to be seen. Marksmen are put to the test with the Barrett M-Rad. But the wind sends their bullets astray and two flunk out, forced to face elimination. Credited with killing off the Wooly Mammoth, the prehistoric Atlatl will lead one competitor's future to extinction.

Thread the Needle

A returning challenge receives a daring makeover, literally throwing contestants for a loop. The spin of a wheel determines their bodies' angle as they aim with the Rutgers Security Six Revolver. But two veteran marksmen do not deliver, sending them to the elimination round where they must cleanly fire a bullet through a narrow tube. Failing to shoot on the straight and narrow will unseat one and preserve his opponent for another day.

Familiar Foes

Split into squads of three, the nine remaining competitors face the most extreme and exciting trick shots of seasons past. Their talents are put to the test as they open capped bottles, blow cotton swabs to bits, and knock soda cans out of the air. Transported to the battlefields of yore, two players on the verge of elimination must successfully man Hotchkiss Cannons or be sent home.

Big Boom

With the half the competition eliminated, the remaining eight marksmen continue to vie for the top spot. In a season first, competitors blast clay birds mid flight with Benelli Shotguns. In the elimination challenge, the cross bow pits two competitors against each other. But this season there's an All Star twist and contestants have to put up or be shut down--permanently.

In the most daunting challenge to date, marksmen are strapped to a mechanical arm and sent soaring with the SP89. While rotating in a large circle they must shoot out a series of targets or face elimination. Two competitors zoom down a zip line course, putting their recoil management and rapid transitioning skills to the test.
