TV Chosun confirmed that Joseon Survival will be back on air on July 27th, 2019 as they've managed to find a replacement for Kang Ji Wan, who previously played the role of Han Jung Rok. While it is confirmed to continue, TV Chosun made an announcement as well that the number of episodes has been reduced to a total of 16 episodes instead of the original 20 episodes.

Actor Kang Ji-hwan, who has been arrested for sexual assault (rape) and sexual harassment, has been dishonored and kicked out of the weekend drama he's currently in. Through an official statement, Huayi Brothers announced, "Kang Ji-hwan has been withdrawn from the drama". "We are in search of someone to replace him and we will make the effort to make sure no harm comes to it". However, whether or not the drama, "Joseon Survival", will continue to broadcast is still up in the air.
