The mid-fifties Anne Marie Fuchs ( Lina Wendel ) lives modestly and in seclusion in Düsseldorf. Her only regular contact is the boss of the restaurant café „ Midsummer ", Simone Papst ( Jasmine Difficulties ), who always has a good coffee for Anne and can have it written to her. When Simon's brother Sebastian finds the best buddy murdered and Sebastian disappears without a trace, Anne offers her help. It quickly becomes clear that the inconspicuous lady, who is always short at the checkout, seems to be an absolute investigator with a razor-sharp mind. No wonder, because Anne Marie Fuchs is a former GDR spy, a past that she shares with Olaf Ruhleben ( Torsten Michaelis ).
He was Anne's lead officer and is now trying to recruit her as a specialist for his security company a good 20 years later. But the „ vixen " refuses, because it still has an invoice from its active time, for which it needs its energy to settle it. With the support of Simon's husband Youssef El Kilali ( Karim Cherif ), Anne goes in search of Sebastian and, with her sometimes radical methods, crosses several limits of legality. In the course of her investigation, she comes up with a bigger cause that makes her fear that Sebastian's life is in greatest danger…

After ex-Stasi spy Anne Marie Fuchs ( Lina Wendel ) and import and export dealer Youssef El Kili ( Karim Cherif ) successfully solved their first common case with unorthodox methods, Youssef sees himself as an aspiring Sherlock Holmes. Without Anne's knowledge, he had business cards for the young detective agency „ Fuchs & El Kili " printed and distributed them diligently to his customers. Not without success, because in fact he pulls a potential client ashore – very much to the astonishment of the completely unsuspecting Anne, who considers the investigator startup to be a snap idea and initially refuses to support him.
However, it does not take long for Youssef to be in trouble, because on his arrival he finds his client, Astrid Altmann ( Doris Plenert ), dead in her house, what Commissioner Eisner ( Robert Dölle ) calls for and almost results in his arrest. No question, Anne has to help him out of the clamp, because alone Youssef will neither solve the case nor be able to pull his head out of the loop. In addition, working with Youssef is a welcome change from the dark thoughts about her espionage past and the loss of her child for Anne. The dead woman was an active opponent of the lignite opencast mine, which soon became her Heimatstadt Ekenbach is said to fall victim to.
The daughter of the murder victim, Katja Mehring ( Tanja Schleiff ), works for Westdeutsche Kohl AG, which operates the opencast mine and the associated relocation of Ekenbach. When Katja Mehring, the operator of the local gravel pit, is killed shortly afterwards, the situation worsens.
Using highly creative, albeit largely illegal methods, the „ vixen " and Youssef find out, that Carsten Mehring ( Isaak Dentler ) bought land in Ekenbach on a large scale on behalf of a Luxembourg real estate company. But why should someone invest money in a place that will soon be razed? In the course of their investigation, in which Youssef is caught by Anne's approach time and time again, the two are caught in the crosshairs of a number of powerful gentlemen, who want to get the „ sniffer " off their neck – a life-threatening situation for Anne and Youssef.

„ The vixen ", Anne Marie Fuchs ( Lina Wendel ), is late: her ex-husband Konrad Gelden is shot in his villa, the masked perpetrator flees from Anne's eyes. This shatters Anne's hope of solving the riddle about her son Florian's disappearance. He was kidnapped as a young boy almost 30 years ago to punish Anne for leaving the Stasi. Anne's business partner Youssef El Kili ( Karim Cherif ) uses the situation and gets a new order for the detective agency „ Fuchs & El Kili ": The search for Konrad Gelden's murderer. The client: Konrad Gelden's son Markus ( Martin Geisen ). Anne is electrified: Konrad Gelden has a son? This Markus is about as old as Florian would be now.
Are Markus and Florian perhaps identical? Youssef's wife Simone ( Jasmin Difficulties ) helps to check this. The investigation into Konrad's death leads Anne to her old companion Ruhleben ( Torsten Michaelis ). The owner of a security company had dubious business relationships with Konrad. When Anne manages to search Ruhlebens' office, she finds a crucial indication that her son Florian lives – differently than she has assumed for years. Youssef struggles to call Anne to order – after all, it is important to satisfy a paying customer and to determine for Markus Gelden who killed his father. When the detectives find the perpetrator, Anne makes a terrible discovery.

The henchman evening of Youssef's cousin Jamila ( Nagmeh Alaei ) is blown up when a group of masked men storms the hall and knocks the groom Tobias ( Orestes Fiedler ) together. The detective agency „ Fuchs & Kili " receives an order from the groom's father ( Hanno Friedrich ) to find the thugs. Anne ( Lina Wendel ) and Youssef ( Karim Chérif ) quickly find out that the bride has a lover. Does he want to prevent the wedding? When they visit him, they find him murdered in his apartment –. But Anne is not just a headache. Her son ( Florian Bartholomäi ) is sitting the murder of his father in custody and is waiting for the trial. Anne urgently needs money for his lawyer, so it is a good thing that Jamila instructs her to find Patrick's murderer.
Youssef can also use every euro: his wife Simone ( Jasmin Difficulties ) is expecting a child and it is important to finance various new purchases. When a second man is violently killed, the detectives discover step by step that not only jealousy, but also business interests and misappropriated money play a major role in solving the case.

Youssef El Kilali ( Karim Chérif ) takes over the catering for a fashion show for his pregnant wife Simone ( Jasmin Difficulties ). As soon as he arrives there, the model Nastja ( Lola Fuchs ) asks him for help: during the dress rehearsal for the show, she believes she has observed the murder of her friend Kira ( Jennifer Buschmann ). Kira seems to have disappeared. When Anne ( Lina Wendel ) and Youssef Kira's body find it in a clothing rack of the fashion company, they start the investigation. Commissioner is enthusiastic about the activities of the detectives Eisner ( Robert Dölle ) within limits. Especially since Anne and Youssef seem to always be one step ahead.
The investigations not only lead the duo to the creative minds of the fashion label, but above all to a model school, pulling young girls from abroad out of their pockets with the prospect of a modeling career in Germany. The wife of the Düsseldorf police council Rainer Bachmann ( Peter Trabner ) is kidnapped. When trying to save his mother Monika ( Dagmar Operskalski ), the adult son is killed by a shot. His widow Nicola ( Picco von Groote ) desperately seeks support from the detective agency „ Fuchs & Kilali ". She does not trust the police investigation because she knows that her father-in-law has made many police officers an enemy through his leadership style. Anne ( Lina Wendel ) and Youssef ( Karim Chérif ) suspect a revenge and start working around Rainer Bachmann.
Meanwhile, Anne's son Florian ( Florian Bartholomäi ) manages to escape from the Düsseldorf JVA together with his cellmate. No wonder Anne is now being monitored – the police expect Florian to show up with her. Permanent shading does not make the detectives' work easier. On top of that, they realize that the two cases are related – worse, Florian's life is a danger!

Youssef's niece Saida ( Sara Fazilat ) finds her boyfriend, the young doctor Hagen Hoffmann ( Baris Ar ), killed in the apartment together. The police assume an act in the drug environment due to the victim's computer activities. But Saida is certain: Hagen definitely had nothing to do with drugs. She instructs Anne ( Lina Wendel ) and Youssef ( Karim Chérif ) to find the murderer. During their investigation, the two detectives came across indications that Hagen had another girlfriend besides Saida. On top of that there was violent dispute in the aid organization in which Hagen last worked. Because Hagen had apparently found out that his colleague Jonas ( Ronny Miersch ) had a pharmaceutical company bribe him.
It quickly becomes clear: This case is larger than initially assumed – and the perpetrator is already on their heels. And then there is Anne's son Florian ( Florian Bartholmäi ), who has been in mortal danger since he escaped from the JVA. A race against time begins.

While Anne ( Lina Wendel ) and Youssef ( Karim Chérif ) are researching the business lunch on the eve of Loose's death, Simone Papst ( Jasmin Schwiers ), Youssef's wife, is also faced with a new task: Her sick father Reinhard ( Günter Barton ) asks her to take on a short-term job in his real estate company.
When Anne and Youssef find out that Thomas Loose was employed by Simone's father as a buyer in the company empire, they use Simone's new sphere of activity: Anne is her personal assistant at Thomas Loose's workplace. Loose had only been with the Pope company for a few months and was pursuing a tough austerity course. Did he make enemies with it? Anne and Youssef discover in their investigations a well-kept secret in Simon's family, which is now coming to light – with far-reaching consequences.

Max, on the other hand, believes in murder and hires the two detectives to find the perpetrator. Leonie worked in the arcade of Max ' Uncle Lukas Bender ( Eric Klotzsch ). As Anne ( Linda Wendel ) and Youssef ( Karim Chérif ) find out, dirty mafia money is washed there.
