It was nice to see a person of color playing a relevant role besides just side-kick. Considering the time period this woman of color was an active part of the mystery, was intelligent and not stereotypical. The history didn't seem contrived but appropriate for how women were perceived in that time period and country. I even appreciated the acknowledgement/ joke in one episode about how outspoken Black women were not received well. I hope the character develops as all the women friends do in the future episodes.
