Jack Russell

Born in Gloucestershire, England, Jack Russell made his debut in first class cricket for Gloucestershire in 1981 at the age of 17 when still at  school, turning pro the following year. He was awarded MBE for services to cricket in 1996 HM Queen's Birthday Honours.  Also known for his abilities as an artist, he decided to become a painter as a result of being stuck inside cricket pavilions when rain stopped the play.
