Born in Windsor, Ontario, Sophie Nélisse was raised in Montreal and began her career at the age of seven in commercials. Her first small screen appearance was in a 2010 episode of Mirador, with her film debut at age 10 in the 2012 French-Canadian film Monsieur Lazhar.
