Constantinos Stephanopoulos was born on August 15, 1926 in Patras, Greece. He has served as President of the Hellenic Republic from March 15, 1995 to March 20, 2005.
On August 13, 2004, during the Opening Ceremony, he is the first Head of State as President of the Hellenic Republic to declare open the Games of the XXVIII Olympiad of the modern era in Athens, Greece. He was accompanied by the Adjutant to the President of the Hellenic Republic, Colonel Georgios Dritsakos of the Hellenic Air Force.
