Sam Worthington

Born in Surrey, England, Sam Worthington was raised in Australia from the age of six months. He attended high school at John Curtin College of the Arts, leaving before graduating and worked construction jobs while traveling across Australia. At 19 he auditioned for, and was accepted into the National Institute of Dramatic Art, graduating in 1998. His first professional work was on stage, in a production of Judas Kiss. He hit the screen in 2000 with guest appearances in Jag, Water Rats, Blue Heelers and the Australian dance film Bootmen.
