"Love can cure any ailment," a psychotherapist tells Anna Dronova, the head of a cosmetics company who has suffered a nervous breakdown in her relentless pursuit of success and profit. The doctor advises her to "journey into the past" and seek out the people who truly value her. However, she discovers that neither her ex-husband—a politician—nor a musician classmate, nor even a devoted admirer truly loves her anymore. The doctor then urges Anna to visit the very people she hates and wishes to take revenge on. Gradually, the businesswoman realizes that revenge is hardly the right way to start a new life, and that only forgiveness offers true liberation.
