This was hard to watch as I can see two sides . However what moved me greatly was the husbands decision to plead guilty to help his stepson heal. His stepson told told him that the closeness had gone and he couldnt completely forgive him until he had paid by a prison sentence... be it 15 years or 5... As the husband said at the end ..if it had been 100 years Id have still done it for him. Thats not a bad man. Personally I feel he had a chance of a non custodial sentence ..there was clear evidence of abuse and drug usage .which exacerbated .the violence. .I felt the fathers actions were motivated by his fears for his young son...fearful she would kill him if he died.

Not sure why this is categorized as a Season 5 specials episode. On the A&E Network website it's listed as episode 10 of Season 5. It's their programming. They should know best, right?
